As we journey, we are often caught up in ourselves. We begin to limit our abilities according to our capacity to handle the situations of life. In doing so, we are limiting the vision that God has for us. God is the author, the creator of our faith; he determines what we can bear, what we can and cannot do. As we journey from the sunshine to the rain, from times of celebration to times of pain, we are called to worship the Lord. Key to the journey is the word, where lies the promises of God.
Joshua 1:9 lets us know that we don’t have to be afraid. We can step out on the word of God and he will be with us. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” As God speaks and directs us, he wants us to move in the assurance of his word, of his promises. Verse 8 reads, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” God has a plan for reach of us.
We are called to be encouraged; as we mediate on the word and the promises of God. He doesn’t want us to give up on our dreams, to doubt the future that he has promised us. When God is for us; nothing can stop us. He desires that we speak to our mountain and not allow our mountain to speak to us.
