Meditation of the Heart

1 Chronicles 16: 26 & 27 “For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.”

True joy, surpassing joy comes from the Lord our God above. It is he who is the center of our joy. It is he who is eternal and faithful in all that he does for he is able. He is the redeemer of our life, he is our salvation. He rules over all things and he is forever with us. Let us not be mistaken by the temporal, brief satisfaction that we find in our jobs, our children, our homes or even those images and thoughts that may gain our attention for the moment. We must be mindful to not make idols of these things.

We must be careful to know that it is God who makes health our wealth. It is he who calms the stormy seas in our spirit. It is he who blesses in ways, things that money has no value. It is he who promises to dry our tears and remove all our fears. It is he who calls us into a belief and trust, a dependence in a living and true savior, one who cares. It is in this care that our joy should lie…it is faithful and it is true. It is in him that our spirits are lifted and our souls are called to rejoice. #waterfordryplace #wwwgavismosleycom #autographedcopyavailable
